An average professional typist reaches 50 to 70 wpm, while some positions can require 80 to 95 (usually the minimum required for dispatch positions and other time-sensitive typing jobs), and some advanced typists work at speeds above 120. Your typing speed is measured using the adjusted words-per-minute (A WPM) formula, which means that the number of words typed per minute is reduced (adjusted) when you make typing errors. So when you take our typing speed test, do not look only at your speed, look also at the number of mistakes you make. To get better results, concentrate on your typing accuracy.
