An average professional typist reaches about 50 to 70 wpm, while the requirement for some positions can reach 80 to 95 wpm (the usual minimum requirement for dispatchers and other time-sensitive typing jobs), and some advanced typists work at speeds above 120 wpm. Your typing speed is measured using the adjusted words-per-minute (A WPM) formula, which means the number of words typed per minute is reduced (adjusted) when you make typing errors. So when you take our typing speed test, take into account the number of mistakes along with your typing speed.  To get better results, concentrate on your typing accuracy.
